With a growing focus on Health IT projects, M Powered Strategies is now a Gold Level Corporate sponsor for Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting a better understanding of health care information and management systems. The alignment with our mission to transform Federal Government management and health care makes the alliance a natural fit. For the past three years, M Powered Strategies has played a key role in the design and implementation of the Virtual Lifetime Electronic Records (ViLER) initiative at the Department of Veterans Affairs. Now, with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) attempting to bring the nation’s healthcare into one integrated system, the need for top-quality health IT support is paramount. Currently, M Powered Strategies is working at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on the largest health IT project in the history of the U.S. Government, coordinating a multi-agency Health Insurance Exchange (HIX).
Joining HIMSS provides M Powered Strategies with additional resources to support its expanding health capabilities as well as its network in the health IT arena. According to MPS Associate Analyst, Allison Primack, the chapter meetings are an excellent forum for sharing ideas, “I appreciate the opportunity to hear about the various health IT initiatives that other groups are working on.” Sarah Nurse, M Powered Strategies’ expert in health IT at the VA, is equally enthusiastic. “HIMSS supports our continued ability to provide excellent service to our clients by staying informed on lessons learned in the implementation of the national health IT agenda across industry and government.”
