MPS Maintains ANSI Accreditation

Posted in PREP / Professional Development on April 14, 2016

ansiM Powered Strategies is proud to announce that our Professional Readiness and Effectiveness Program (PREP) has been recertified under the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for the third consecutive year. ANSI is a governing body that issues accreditation to organizations for outstanding programmatic performance across a variety of industries.

MPS cares deeply about professionally developing our staff, and over the years internal trainings have evolved into several formal professional development programs. The ANSI accreditation is a great achievement for MPS as it demonstrates the quality of PREP’s programs, ensuring participants a structured and standardized learning experience. Foremost among them is the Professional Apprenticeship for Consulting Excellence (PACE) program. PACE provides recent graduates and transitioning professionals a structured introduction to the world of federal consulting, with trainings, individualized coaching, and business development practice.

The PREP Management Team devotes a significant number of hours each year in preparation for the ANSI audit. Given how rigorous and extensive the audits are, it is an impressive achievement for MPS to continue to maintain this accreditation and we thank our Management Team for their continued excellence and dedication to our company’s professional development.

Congratulations, PACE Cohort 8!

Karli Kloss, Bryan Kovalick, and Rima Abouziab

Eight generations of PACE graduates, along with members of the PREP Oversight Group and MPS staff, gathered in the terrace of the Shakespeare Theatre’s Harmon Hall on January 22 to celebrate PACE Cohort 8. The graduates – Rima Abouziab, Karli Kloss, and Bryan Kovalick – received their PREP certificates, marking the successful completion of all the PACE requirements.

The rigorous PACE curriculum includes weekly trainings which cover skills and knowledge areas that are key to professional consultants; individual and group coaching; practical experience working on government contracts; and a capstone project known as the business case, which involves research of real-life issues in government agencies along with an executive panel presentation. The highest score for the business case for this cohort went to Bryan Kovalick. Congratulations Bryan!

According to PREP Director Nicole Baillis, “Cohort 8 was an impressive group of individuals, both professionally and personally. They made an impact in their delivery and corporate work, while approaching all of it with an admirable sincerity. I could not be prouder of their achievements, and look forward to seeing what the future holds for each of them.”

For more information about the ANSI-accredited PACE Program, please email Nicole Baillis, PREP Director.

Cohort 7

Patrick Henderson, Ryne Peterson, Josh Erb, and Ashley Rezai

In the spring of this year, four individuals from very different backgrounds (Peace Corps in Moldova, voter registration in Northwest Alaska, entrepreneurial consulting in the Middle East, and election observation in Tunisia) joined the M Powered Strategies (MPS) PACE Program. After 25 weeks of contract work, coaching, and professional development trainings, Joshua Erb, Patrick Hendrickson, Ryne Peterson, and Ashley Rezai have successfully completed all the PACE requirements.

They received their PREP certificates in a celebration with MPS staff, PACE alumni, executives, and colleagues on August 24, 2015 at The Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Sidney Harman Hall. “It was a journey, from start to finish,” said Patrick Hendrickson. Picking up on Patrick’s metaphor, Ashley Rezai added her take on the program: “To be a PACEr is to be a voyager, one who is willing to explore their own professional habits with a critical eye, and expand their horizons to new lands of development.”

As all four PACErs from Cohort 7 transition to full-time staff members at MPS, PACE Cohort 8 is well on its way, having begun in July 2015 and set to end in December. For more information about the ANSI-accredited PACE Program, please email Nicole BaillisPREP Director.
