Pro Bono Work by MPS Team Yields Strategic Vision for DC-based Nonprofit

Brian Wenzler, Rima Abouziab, Jimmy Church and Zully Barrientos

Talent Beyond Boundaries is a new, fast-growing nonprofit creating a pathway to help skilled people displaced from their home countries find work and self-reliance through international employment opportunities. In the summer of 2015, they approached M Powered Strategies in search of market research consulting services.

Rima Abouziab, Zully Barrientos, Jimmy Church, Josh Erb, Mara Goldberg, and Brian Wenzler of MPS researched and reached out to nearly 100 organizations across all sectors – private, government, and nonprofit – conducting dozens of interviews to gather insight and gain a better understanding of market operations. By analyzing the various perspectives and recommendations, the team was able to identify a path of least resistance for pairing skilled refugees with organizations looking for talent to fill out their workforce.

Last month they presented Talent Beyond Boundaries with a clear vision and an actionable plan to conduct its first successful pilot.

“M Powered Strategies provided Talent Beyond Boundaries with significantly more feedback and insight into our work than we could have expected! Their recommendations continue to guide our strategic planning.”- Sayre Nyce, Executive Director, Talent Beyond Boundaries

MPS is grateful to Talent Beyond Boundaries for the opportunity to support them in their important mission. To learn more about how MPS’ Pro Bono services can help your organization, visit our webpage. Or contact our Community Engagement Manager, Kat McDonald.
